LYRA DOUBLES DIVISION

Two competitors will perform a choreographed routine together between 2:30 minutes and 3:00 minutes on one LYRA apparatus

Both competitors must fill out an application form.

Payment is bundled together.
• If partners are in different age groups, the team must compete in the older age division.
• If partners are in different skill levels, the team must compete in the higher skill division.

Both athletes must actively participate throughout the performance.
• Judging will be based on technique (20%), execution (15%), synchronization (15%), creativity (10%), transitions (10%), artistry (10%), stage presence (10%), and overall performance quality (10%).
• Safety and proper apparatus control must be maintained at all times.
• Dangerous or uncontrolled movements may result in point deductions or disqualification.
• Divisions may be combined or adjusted based on number of entries received.

Floor work not to exceed 15% of routine for all divisions.


APPARATUS INFORMATION

We will have two single point, wrapped Lyras available for use – 34″ inch and a 36″ inch diameters.

The Lyra will be hung approximately 5′ feet above the crash mat.

Lyra competitors may specify a lower height from the stage via email prior to the event and confirm during stage testing. If the competitor is not present during stage testing to confirm the specified height, the Lyra will automatically be hung to the set height of 5′ feet.

Youth Semi-Pro: 2:30 MAX

Youth Pro: 3:00 MAX

18+ Semi-Pro: 2:30 MAX

18 + Pro : 3:00 MAX

Youth & 18 + Semi-Pro: Three points of contact at all times above the bottom bar with exception of mounting the top bar. This can be done with either a pike or a straddle.

Under the bottom bar, no foot, neck or heel hangs. (All mounts under bottom bar allowed, and one arm/elbow hangs are permitted).

No cross ankle release on top bar.

No Swinging the Lyra or any orbital movement that takes the performer past the crash mat while suspended in an aerial apparatus.

**A mount on lyra is considered anything a performer is doing to get inside of the lyra from the floor.

***An invert is anything done inside or on top of the lyra, once inside/on it where your hips are lifted over the head.

SCORING BREAKDOWN

Technique (20%) – Clean lines, strength, control, proper mechanics, difficulty

Execution (15%) – How well skills are completed: pointed feet, steadiness, clean finishes, precision, consistency

Synchronization (15%) – Timing, matching shapes, shared rhythm, partner awareness

Creativity (10%) – Original concepts, interesting combinations, innovative partner use

Transitions (10%) – Smoothness moving between shapes, mounts, exits, pathways

Artistry (10%) – Emotional delivery, musicality, style, storytelling

Stage Presence (10%) – Confidence, projection, command of the audience

Overall Performance Quality (10%) – Big picture, cohesion, impact, professionalism
